Noolputtu

Ingredients:

  • Rice flour – 2 cups (Not puttu flour, use special string hopper flour)
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Water – 1 ½ cups (heated)
  • Grated coconut – ½ cup

Preparation Method:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add the hot water while mixing and knead well until you get a soft, non-sticky dough.
  3. Fill a string hopper press with the dough and press it onto idli plates or string hopper mats in small portions.
  4. Steam cook for about 5-7 minutes. Avoid overcooking.
  5. Once cooked, sprinkle grated coconut on top and serve warm.
